CounselingOngoing, short-term counseling is a free service available to any youth under 18 residing in Salt Lake County and their family. Youth can either meet with the therapist alone or with the family; the parents do, however, need to come to at least the first appointment. Typically, the youth will come for an hourlong appointment once a week for about 8 weeks but the time can be extended depending on the situation.

The family therapists are available Monday through Friday from Noon to 8 PM and an appointment can be scheduled by calling 801 269-7500.

If a youth or a family does not have an appointment and wants to speak to a therapist right away, they can access crisis therapy at the Juvenile Receiving Center. This service does not require an appointment and is available 24-hours a day.
